Last Sunday

Last Sunday was a busy music night for me. I went to the Saxon to start off the night with The Resentments. The Resentments' current line up is Miles Zuniga (of Fastball), Scrappy Jud Newcomb (who plays with several Austin artists), Bruce Hughes (of The Scabs and Poi Dog Pondering), and John Chipman (of The Band Of Heathens). Extremely talented men. They play every Sunday night and do a song swap on stage. It's a fantastic show that lets each member be put in the spot light. I stayed until the break which is around 8:45 I think. At that time I ran off to Ruta Maya's for a friend's birthday show. My friend plays in a band called Ritmo3. This is a salsa band. A VERY good salsa band. I was pleasently surprised. They also do salsa classes before the show so I was able to sit back, watch my friend perform and watch tons of people salsa dance across the floor. It was an absolute blast! If you get a chance you should really check it out. Again, the band is called Ritmo3. From there my friend and I continued his birthday celebration at The Elephant Room. I will have to get back to you with the performer's names there. I remember there was a trombonist!
That is all for now!

Here is a photo to get us started. Matt The Electrician at Wyldwood.

This is just the beginning!

So I have decided that I will try and do a music blog. I am not promising it will be good. I pretty much guarantee this will be very amateur and some times silly. But hopefully you will like it at some point. I will discuss on here new albums I buy, shows I go to (big or small), and venues I see shows at. Hopefully y'all will at least find this a bit useful. Oh and pictures!! Lots of pictures!
